The Origin Of SEC Whistleblower Information

Around a year ago, a client lamented the dearth of substantive factual information available on the Internet for potential SEC whistleblowers.

According to that client, almost everything that he/she found online was law firm marketing materials or news articles.  Those sources contained little if any factual information to help someone decide the preliminary question of whether the SEC whistleblower route is right for them.

The client remarked that it would be helpful to have a single place that potential SEC whistleblowers could go to for information to help them understand, among other things:  (1) how the SEC whistleblower program works; (2) what the program entails on the whistleblower’s part; (3) whether the frauds or violations that they have uncovered are the kinds of things that the SEC might be interested in; (4) what the requirements are to be eligible for an SEC whistleblower award; (5) what protections are available to SEC whistleblowers; and (6) what information an SEC whistleblower lawyer might need to help them most effectively.

Out of that conversation, SEC Whistleblower Information was born.

Whether you are a potential SEC whistleblower, an SEC whistleblower attorney, or someone else researching or interested in the SEC whistleblower program, we hope that SEC Whistleblower Information will be a helpful resource for you.
