New York SEC Whistleblower Law Office

A Focused New York SEC Whistleblower Law Office

Eagle carrying flag

To you, your case is the only case that matters.  The Pickholz Law Offices, a dedicated New York SEC whistleblower law office, understands this.  The first thing you will come across when you visit our Firm’s website is our corporate mantra:  “Because every case is the most important to the client involved.”  This is because we know that becoming an SEC whistleblower is not an easy decision.  Once this decision is made, the whistleblower often does not know where or how to begin, or who to turn to for help.

Simply asking a friend for the name of a lawyer they know, or conducting a basic Internet search for a lawyer, won’t necessarily result in finding a New York SEC whistleblower law office that has the focus, experience and expertise to properly guide you through the process of being an SEC whistleblower.

The Pickholz Law Offices does not claim to handle all kinds of legal matters, or even all kinds of whistleblower cases.  We focus on SEC whistleblowers and SEC cases specifically.

Why should you care?  Because the SEC is its own, distinct federal agency, with its own established rules, procedures, and culture.  An SEC whistleblower case is different than an IRS whistleblower case, False Claims Act (FCA) whistleblower case, or any other type of legal proceeding.  How does a person qualify as an SEC whistleblower?  What kinds of cases and types of information is the SEC interested in?  What are the rules that determine if a whistleblower is eligible to receive an SEC whistleblower award?  These questions and more -- and how they are addressed -- can affect whether or not the SEC might decide to pursue a whistleblower’s complaint, whether the whistleblower can receive an SEC whistleblower reward, and even the amount of the award.

The Pickholz Law Offices was created by Jason R. Pickholz with the objective of establishing a New York SEC whistleblower law office to focus on the specific needs of SEC whistleblowers.

Since 1995, Mr. Pickholz has been representing clients who sought to speak with the SEC, sometimes voluntarily to inform the SEC about a situation at a company where they worked, other times as part of an ongoing SEC investigation.  Throughout his career, Mr. Pickholz has developed an understanding of how the SEC functions, and how its lawyers work and think.  These insights have been invaluable since 2010, when a few months after the SEC whistleblower program was created, Mr. Pickholz founded our law firm specifically to provide SEC whistleblowers with the guidance they need from an experienced SEC whistleblower lawyer.

The Pickholz Law Offices was one of the first law firms in the country to win an SEC whistleblower award for a client and was also the first law firm ever to win an award for a client on appeal to the full Commission in Washington, D.C.  Inside Counsel magazine named this victory as one of the milestones of the SEC whistleblower program.

Additionally, The Pickholz Law Offices has represented numerous SEC whistleblowers in cases involving investment firms, financial companies, and companies listed in the Fortune Top 10, Top 20, Top 50, Top 100, and Top 500 public companies.
