New Securities Crimes Update Released
Thomson Reuters has just released a new annual update to
Securities Crimes 2d, a two-volume book co-authored by Jason
Pickholz.
Mr. Pickholz added Chapter 3, “The SEC Whistleblower Program,”
to the book in 2013 to provide a comprehensive resource for
SEC whistleblower attorneys and SEC whistleblowers in this new
and emerging area of law. The chapter contains knowledge and
insights that Mr. Pickholz has gained as one of the first SEC
whistleblower attorneys ever to win an SEC whistleblower
reward for a client, and as the first SEC whistleblower
attorney ever to win an appeal of an adverse preliminary
determination, combined with his experience gained over two
decades representing witnesses and defendants before the SEC,
DOJ, and US Attorney’s Offices.
This 2014 release includes 69 new or updated pages to Chapter
3, revised to reflect recent developments in the SEC
Whistleblower Program.
Among the many highlights of this new release are:
-
Current developments in whistleblower confidentiality and
anonymity under the SEC whistleblower program; -
The denial of an SEC whistleblower award claim for failing
to properly follow the procedures set forth in the SEC
whistleblower rules; -
The grant of an award of more than $400,000 to an SEC
whistleblower who reported to the SEC after the company
failed to address the issue internally (disclaimer: the award recipient was a client of The
Pickholz Law Offices LLC); -
A sample of an actual confidentiality agreement with the
SEC under the SEC whistleblower program (redacted); - and much more.

Table of Contents
